What is MOI?

The complete form of MOI stands for Medium of Study Instructions. When a student is studying for a high school diploma or a bachelor’s degree and their medium of language instruction is in English, MOI in English can be considered an alternative to language proficiency. There are plenty of languages globally, but English is regarded as the most widely spoken international language. English is the official language in the United Kingdom. Thus, English proficiency is a required evidence for international students in the UK for their further higher education. If you do not have MOI, consider taking English proficiency tests like IELTS, TOEFL, PTE, or similar language proficiency tests.

But having said that, not all UK universities accept Medium of study instructions as proof of English proficiency results. Some UK universities provide language proficiency waiver program as an alternative to IELTS, PTE, TOEFL, etc. Any prospective student must check the admissions and language requirements with their agency. At Graduate Track, we have an updated list of MOI-accepted UK institutions. Most UK institutes accept recent graduates with a maximum study break of 3-5 years. Few also accept longer.
